A timeless look was achieved using all natural stone products. To break up the brick on the house a Champlain natural stone veneer was installed on the center part of the house. A large specimen cut leaf Japanese maple is placed at the top of the raised pool wall to as a focal point in the landscape.

"When we first met with the homeowner, it was made very clear that he and his wife were looking for their own home retreat and resort," explains Angelo Tuosto, Angelo Tuosto Design Group. The house was newly constructed and they just moved from a much smaller property. With two young children and a big family, they wanted a design that was all inclusive.

The homeowners preferred a more formal approach to both the interior and exterior of the home and wanted a “timeless look” that would reflect in the landscape. The new construction gave the designer’s a clean canvas to work with.

The veneer used on the house was brought into the landscape on the raised pool wall and spa as well as the outdoor bar and kitchen. A lush and seasonal planting palate brings this home resort together.

Underneath the cabana, Pennsylvania thermal Bluestone is used to break up the marble on the pool and dining terraces. Architectural detail is highlighted with crown moldings, columns and a stained bead board for the ceiling.

The theme or goal of the design was to create “rooms” within the yard. The first being the main “dining” area with outdoor kitchen that was in close proximity to the house kitchen and could be used all year long. The second room would be the “living room” which focused on the covered cabana. The third room was the “entertaining” area where the pool and pool terrace would be situated.

"This was an exciting project for our team; we had to think out of the box and tastefully include all of the homeowner’s desires," said Tuosto. "Most importantly, the key was to not overload the property but make it a beautiful, functional space for the homeowners to enjoy. We know they will truly enjoy this yard with their family for many years to come!"

A free form shaped pool was designed with a curved pool terrace that works off the shape of the pool. Bluestone paths with lawn joints soften the hardscape.
