Let there be no doubt this issue of the magazine takes design to another level.
Readers should be aware that it is rare to find outstanding designers such as Marilyn Rose, Richard Piemonte and RSB Interiors in the same publication.

Marilyn Rose Interiors has the cover story of course and reflects the beauty of design on the North Shore. Along with architect Brian Shore the work of this house is truly magnificent. Richard Piemonte is a regular contributor to this publication and, as always, the designs are outstanding. RSB Interiors, however, has returned to the pages of House after a long absence and we are pleased that she could enlighten our readers on her achievement.
Beyond that, more than 20 readers called to identify that strange bird we showed in the July/August issue. Details are in the Items on Page 50. It was a black crowned night heron, according to the callers.

In our efforts to show antiquing, Joan Tyor Carlson, one of the best antique writers anywhere, has added a new chapter to her legend by giving the reader an insider’s view of Sag Harbor.

Always traveling, Margaret Johnson once again takes the reader on a trip to Italy. At the same time, Bill and Joan Mills give another perspective of Italy and Greece from a cruise liner.

Keep those calls and cards coming.
