Classic with a Twist

Showcase Baths captures the moment

Tom Fox designed a spacious shower that runs the width of the room as he did with the vanity wall. Custom-designed Carrara marble throughout with a seamless glass enclosure creates optimal visual space. At one end is a showerhead; at the other, a hand-held shower is flexible whether standing or sitting.

When neighbors began talking over the fence and introducing themselves, both families learned that Fox Diehl Architects was handling their renovations. Life is full of ‘small worlds’ whether next door or across the globe. In this case, the homeowners had gotten the kitchen they wanted in their renovation working with Showcase Kitchens so they turned to Showcase Baths and their principal designer, Maria Sergio to collaborate with Fox and themselves.

A classic deck mounted Lefroy Brooks fixture is the perfect accompaniment to the Maxx Free standing soaking tub.

In the renovation of the house, Fox extended the new master bath over the kitchen and part of the family room. The house is adjacent to a small village park. Opening up the space to the views beyond and centering a large soaking tub anchored the room and made the views a wanted additional design element.

The classic grey and white coloration in the master bath is timeless. It is even an integral part of the custom-designed shower, making it seamless with the overall space.

“The homeowners had good taste and nice furnishings,” Fox says. “They had a clear palette of materials and knew from the beginning what they wanted.” As Sergio further explains, “I always do a wish list with clients, getting a sense of their taste level. I then pull samples of what I think will work in the space but ultimately it is their bathroom, and they put the final stamp on the space.” The end result is a classic and tailored master bath that will be relevant for years to come.
