Celebrity Athletes Come Together to Promote the Prevention of Head Injuries

On Monday, July 18, the Head Injury Association held its 2016 Celebrity Golf Tournament. More than100 golfers, joined by sports celebrities such as Ann Liguori, WLIU/WFAN radio personality and author; Maxcine Agee, wife of Tommie Agee of the NY Mets; Dr. Max Gomez, WCBS-TV medical reporter and David Weiss, Golf magazine/1010WINS played at Glen Oaks’ world class, 27-hole course. One of the many highlights of the day was a hole-in-one made by Walter Stockton, CEO of IGHL, resulting in Walter winning a 2017 Audi from Biener Audi of Great Neck. Congratulations Walter!

Golf was followed by a spectacular cocktail reception and awards presentation. This year’s mission statement included a powerful video presentation titled “A Day in the Life of a TBI Survivor.” In addition to the celebrities who played golf, Justice Patricia DiMango, Hot Bench, WCBS-TV; Sean Landeta, NY Giants and John Nitti, NY Jets attended the reception to lend their support to such an important cause. Funds raised at this event will be used to enrich the services offered to traumatic brain injury survivors. A traumatic brain injury occurs in the United States every 12 seconds. The Head Injury Association, founded in 1988, provides residential and community based support services to traumatic brain injury survivors and their families.
